GREEN participation in DESEi+d 2024
HI Iberia has had the honor of participating in the 11th National Congress on R&D in Defense and Security (DESEi+d 2024), held at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Jaén from November 12 to 14, 2024. This prestigious congress, organized by the General Subdirectorate of Technological Planning and Innovation (SDG PLATIN), the General Subdirectorate of Military Education (DIGEREM), and in collaboration with the Defense University Centers and Isdefe, is a key meeting point for researchers, institutions, and companies in the field of defense and security.
In this edition, HI Iberia presented significant advances derived from the GREEN project, an initiative dedicated to developing sustainable and efficient technologies for the defense sector. The main proposal highlighted at this event was GLASS (Gestión Logística y de Arsenales con Aprendizaje Federado y Blockchain), an innovative model that combines artificial intelligence, federated learning, and blockchain to optimize logistics and security in arsenal management.
GLASS: Innovation in the Service of Security
The work titled “Adaptive Federated Learning Based on Blockchain: New Frontiers in Logistics and Arsenal Management (GLASS)” was presented by Sergio Zaera Mata, an AI engineer at HI Iberia. GLASS proposes a disruptive approach to managing sensitive data in logistics environments, enabling greater efficiency, privacy, and security through the use of smart contracts and distributed learning techniques.
This project is the result of the joint effort of the GREEN team, led by Roberto G.E. Martín, in collaboration with Paloma Jimeno Sánchez-Patón, Pablo Castañeda Fuentes, Ander Dorado Bolé, and Jesús Franco Moreu. The synergy among these experts has enabled the design of a technological solution that not only addresses current defense challenges but also integrates principles of sustainability and technological adaptation.
