Artificial Intelligence technologies are emerging as the main tools of change that will transform today’s cities into the Smart Cities of the future.
Promoting new technologies
The application of new technologies is not simple and requires solving a series of technical and collaborative difficulties.
Computing capacity is not always adequate for the large volume of existing data, and current data protection regulations require high levels of security and privacy, and both citizens and companies are not always interested in sharing their data, as this could mean the violation of their privacy or the loss of benefits when competing with other companies.
It is necessary to promote new technologies to solve these problems and to propose new work frameworks where the different parties involved will benefit.
Federated Learning combined with Blockchain and Smart Contracts technologies.
The GREEN project proposes the development of an AI platform based on Open Source that contains the aforementioned technologies allowing to solve the problems raised and generate new collaborative environments that result in a global benefit. Relying on the Internet of Things technology, it will allow to turn cities into more sustainable and inclusive places, using as an example of application of this platform, a use case related to the exploitation of charging stations for electric vehicles, but with potential in its design to allow the integration of new functionalities, as well as new use cases.
Objectives
Smart City
To maintain and improve the quality of life of their citizens, governments will have to resort to the application of state-of-the-art technologies.
It requires the combination and development of technologies to optimally manage information in and satisfying the interests of its potential users.
