Use Case

Electric recharge optimization

The GREEN platform proposes a use case focused on optimizing the operation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations (RE).

The development of the platform will not only make this means of transport more accessible, but will also help in the necessary task of making cities emission-free environments.

ENERGY OPTIMIZATION

The platform makes it possible to create a predictive model of the energy demand required in the RE.

With the rapid increase in urban population, significant challenges arise in resource management, which has sparked an interest in the development of Smart Cities through data-driven decision making. GREEN is presented as a solution for the mobility sector, using three key technologies: Federated Learning, Blockchain and Smart Contract.

GREEN focuses on optimizing the charging ecosystem for electric vehicles. The goal of the project is to improve the charging infrastructure to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce pollution.

Recharging station operators (RTOs) can negotiate a price adjusted to their needs with the Grid Provider (PRE), without compromising customer data and maintaining fair competition. In addition, the optimization algorithm allows to match the grid provider’s capacities with the interests of the managers, resulting in EV users being able to recharge their EVs at an adjusted and competitive price.

How do we achieve this? GREEN uses Federated Learning to federate local models from different charging stations, enabling demand forecasting and collaboration despite competition between charging station managers.

And how do we ensure security and integrity in the network? GREEN uses Blockchain and Smart Contracts to create a decentralized and secure network where each station contributes without the need for a central server and without compromising the privacy of participants.

But GREEN’s application is not just limited to the mobility sector; the benefits of using its technologies together extend far beyond! Join us and discover how we are transforming the future.
